Now I know the instant conclusion that many have already drawn from the title, “Oh No! Another Red Ring Of Death”. Well that’s not the case. The NPD numbers for February were released and the PS3 beat the 360 in sales for two consecutive months. As many analyst have pointed out the 360 is clearly dead, Microsoft only has two choices. Either get out of the race or launch another console immediately.
Yeah I know the 360 beat out the PS3 in North America for a year, but these last 2 months were the turning point. I also understand that the 360 gets thrashed in Japan, and Europe remains a battleground, which Sony is trying to hold. I just never knew that 2 months of wins in North America meant that the 360 is dead and in the ground decomposing. I mean the PS3 went through a whole year of bad press but there was still hope that they can turn things around.
Why can’t we simply applaud Sony for turning their misfortune around and Microsoft for delivering on a console that offers great content from: games, movies, and television. Sony had this thing in the bag since the launch of the PS3. If you ask me, the $600 and $500 dollar price points at launch, using a console to win a format war, and making ingame friends lists to delete and remake to include new friends, never happened. In fact it’s quite the opposite, those were the 360 mistakes because we all know from the PS2, Sony is able to get over hardware failures. Then again this could all just be sarcasm at it’s best or worst depending on how you want to view it.
