3 Companies say Goodbye to EGM

Ubisoft,Midway(Mortal Combat) and Sony’s Sport division have all given EGM their version of a “Dear John” letter. Editor Dan Hsu claims that negative review coverage and ratings have lead these companies to stop submitting products to the magazine. I personally question the very natural of the game rating system. Has game development become so heartless that payola has become the norm? Has fanboyism become so rampant that a brand doesn’t get the benefit just because the developer doesn’t cater to the console of your choice” I’m sure both have been done consistently through the years; I believe Super Mario Galaxy even got an undeserving 10 of 10 and it deserved and honest (6.7.) I think developers should concentrate on making great games and let the game reviewer be. It’s not like developers can please everyone all the time.
